Maine’s primary industry is tourism, and the 2023 season is beginning. The economic benefits that result from visitor spending directly enhance the quality of our parks, streets, schools, libraries, and public services, and therefore the quality of our lives. We all appreciate the flourishing community and economy that have been created by tourism. The protection and preservation of the heartbeat of our state and our residents is more important now than ever. We must work together to protect tourism from inequitable treatment and harmful legislation.
